The Town of Southborough Scholarship Committee has announced three scholarship opportunities. Only Southborough residents are eligible.
High school seniors, as well as undergraduates, may apply for one or all of these awards:
- The Southborough Town Scholarship takes into consideration academics, financial need, extracurricular activities, work and volunteer experiences, as well as written expression.
- The Capital Group Scholarship, established in 2011, uses the same criteria.
- The Carroll Harris Memorial Scholarship uses the same criteria, but the applicant must also have participated in gymnastics, plan to major in physical education, education or recreation, or have demonstrated active participation in a town recreation program.
Applications are available at the guidance office for any graduating Southborough senior. (The committee informs me that they submitted forms to all the schools that Southborough seniors attend. But you can also pick up a copy at the Town House.)
The submission deadline is March 31st. On the application, candidates must indicate whether they are applying for one or all of these scholarships by checking the appropriate box(es).
To support the Town Scholarship program, you can make a contribution here. (And stay tuned for information on a March Madness fundraiser.)
