Southborough Wicked Local’s coverage told an interesting story about yesterday’s unfortunate fire.
Southborough’s fire was discovered when firefighters arrived at the complex for a fire alarm in another unit, firefighter Christopher Shanahan said.
“We were there for a different alarm when that just popped up,” said Shanahan. “It looked like it was in the rear. The porch was well-involved.”
The three-season porch is enclosed, Shanahan said.
The flames spread from the rear of the 1 1/2-story, 2,500-square-foot townhouse into the main portion of the unit, Mauro said.
“We were at multiple calls so we didn’t have all available manpower initially,” the chief said. “It caused a delay at first.”
No one was injured. (The owners of the 55+ condo were in Florida at the time of the blaze.) But the building is uninhabitable due to fire and water damage.
