Before sharing the ARHS varsity schedule, here’s an update on recent tournaments.
ARHS Wrestling did well at the Divisional State tournament this past weekend. . . just not as well as they hoped. The Telegram & Gazette wrote:
Sophomore Jack Golden went 3-1 to finish second at 113 pounds while helping Algonquin finish fourth with 93 points. . .
Senior Austin Roche finished third at 138 pounds, while juniors Bryce Finnegan (126) and Drew Cozzolino (132) placed fourth. Junior Colin Robinson finished fifth at 220 pounds.
The five athletes made the brackets for wrestling at the All-States championship. That kicks off this Saturday at 3:15 pm at Reading Memorial High School.
Other ARHS teams competed in state tournaments over the weekend. None fared nearly as well. Girls Swimming only ranked #18, Boys swimming #31 and Boys Indoor Track #56.
ARHS Gymnastics won’t be heading to states. They came in 10 out of 12 at Saturday’s sectional tournament.
The Alpine Ski team competes in its big tournament, tomorrow morning. Seven members are scheduled to ski.
