George Aselbekian, 81, died suddenly on Monday, March 21, 2016 at MetroWest Medical Center surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 60 years, Judith Ann (Richardson). He also leaves his daughter, Doreen Aselbekian, and granddaughter, Desiree Aselbekian, both of Southborough.
George was born and raised in Southborough. He was the son of Armenian Genocide survivors, Zartoohi (Antriassian) and Eghia Aselbekian. He was predeceased by his younger brother Edward.
George attended Southborough Public Schools and Marlborough Vocational School where he studied Machine Shop. He was a master welder and machinist starting Aselbekian Machine with his wife in 1963 continuing the business for nearly 45 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, watching the Red Sox, attending coffee club with the “boys,” spending Sundays with his closest friends, and riding in his Kubota tractor. In his final days, he was able to do everything he enjoyed and be with everyone he loved, including plowing snow in the Kubota one last time.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 25 from 4 to 7pm at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
Burial will be private.
