Yesterday, a Southborough restaurant kicked off its participation in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer. Through Sunday, May 8 (Mother’s Day), Tomasso’s Trattoria will be donating 100% of proceeds from a special dessert to the cause.
This year’s Boston area campaign is to benefit the research of Dr. Heather Parsons at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on biomarkers and patient treatment.
The sweet that Tomasso’s selected for the campaign is the Diplomatico. The chef explains:
“Diplomat” is what Italians call a “Napoleon” — having had a rather difficult history with the French emperor!”
The dessert consists of raspberry mousse on puff pastry with a white chocolate ribbon, raspberry caviar, shortbread crumble, and strawberry sorbet.
