- Breakneck Hill Bumblebees (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Level: A presentation on the declining population of bumblebees and the effect on the community. - Author Ray Lachance – Happy the Rubber Duck (3:45 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Local author Ray Lachance will be visiting the library to read his picture book Happy: The Rubber Duck and discuss his writing process. He will also teach children how to draw Beasties! Copies of his book will be available for purchase and for signing. All are welcome!

ACLU of MA Public Records Talk (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Level: Join Whitney A. Taylor, Political Director for the ACLU of Massachusetts to discuss the current status of the Public Records update legislation and the broad effect this law has on policies and practices across MA. - SOLF Annual Meeting and narrated bird slide show (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Community House, 28 Main Street: This year’s guest presenter at The Southborough Open Land Foundation’s annual meeting is award-winning wildlife photographer Peter Christoph speaking on “The Epic Adventures of a Massachusetts Bird Photographer”. - mosquito-borne disease workshop (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Board of Health Office, 9 Cordaville Road, lower level: This free presentation will include basic mosquito biology, risk factors, disease information and prevention strategies geared toward older adults. For details, see dedicated post.
- Legos at the Library (3:45 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: Children are welcome to come build with Legos, and display their creations in the Children’s Room. Legos will be provided, but all materials need to remain at the library. Parents or caregivers must stay with children during this event.
- NSPAC’s “Go the Distance” Awards Night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St: The Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (NSPAC) will host its 6th annual “Go the Distance” Appreciation Awards evening. For details, see dedicated post.
- Author Series: Leigh Harrington (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Level: Author of “100 Things to Do in Boston Before You Die”. For details, see dedicated post.

- Senior Matinee – The Martian (12:00 – 2:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Free movie screening for Southborough seniors. Starring Matt Damon – During a manned mission to Mars, an astronaut is stranded, presumed dead by his crew.. Movie is rated PG-13 and is approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes long. Before the show, the center will serve lunch (suggested donation of $3). Seniors are also welcome to bring their own lunch. To ensure there is enough lunch to serve – please pre-register at 508-229-4453.

Stamp Out Hunger: Southborough postal carriers are once again taking part in the nation’s largest single-day food drive. Items collected in Southborough as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 24th Annual Stamp Out Hunger event will go directly to the Southborough Food Pantry. You can help by leaving a bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox prior to your normal mail delivery that day. For details on what items are needed, click thumbnail right.
- Bird Walk (7:00 am – 9:00 am) @ Beal’s preserve: The Southborough Open Land Foundation will take part in Mass Audubon’s annual “Birdathon” with a walk led by Mass Audubon. Bring your binoculars and, of course, dress appropriately for ticks! This event is free and open to all. (No previous bird watching experience is required.) Meet at 7:00 am sharp at the triangle area of Main St. (Rte30) and Northborough Rd. for a brief introduction. (You can also meet at the Kiosk on Beals Preserve, but you will miss the brief introduction.) For more information about this program go to www.solf.org.
- David Garden (11:00 am) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Join us for a fun time with music, singing, and dancing! This program is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. All are welcome. Registration is not required.
