Two annual celebrations for Southborough seniors are taking place this summer.
The Southborough Senior Center will hold its Summer BBQ next month. It’s the center’s annual celebration for staff, volunteers, and resident seniors.
This year it will take place on Wednesday, July 13th at 1:00 pm. The cookout requires advance registration and always fills up quickly. So sign up soon!
For the 7th year running, DJ Scott Smith will entertain the crowd.
Food will be catered by TJ’s Spirits in Ashland. The BBQ menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, coleslaw, watermelon and lemonade.
Dessert will be apple pie, sponsored by The Reservoir, Center for Health & Rehabilitation.
If you weren’t quick enough to make the list – or aren’t around that day, there’s another celebration around the corner.
On Wednesday, August 31st, State Representative Carolyn Dykema will hold her annual picnic for seniors in her district. It will take place from noon to 2:00 at Camp Carol Pavilion at the Hopkinton YMCA.
To register for either event, or for more information, call the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
Updated (6/1/6/16 8:19 am): Listed wrong date for the picnic in the text.
Can you please fix the date in the body of the item for Rep. Dykema’s senior picnic? The headline’s right. It will be August 31, rather than August 20.
Thanks for noticing the errror and pointing it out. I just made the change.
