“Light Up” is rained out; Community Pasta Dinner still on

Sadly, the rain ended up being too much for an 18th Annual Light Up Southborough to go on.

(The Southborough Rotary Club had been hoping that it would ease up. But the weather is not cooperating.)

But St. Mark’s Church is still holding it’s pasta dinner tonight. Organizers have been cooking up a storm all day, and the parish hall will be dry. They are welcoming everyone and their appetites.

The free dinner takes place at 5:30 pm.

Is there any raindate for the lighting – or just next year?

Can we vote for tmw as a rain date for pumpkin lighting? We just need volunteers to light them around 6 right? I would be happy to volunteer!

I agree. I would think everyone could just set up their pumpkins and light them themselves, right? This is one of the best nights in Southborough. Why not just move it to Columbus Day?

Thanks Beth! Yes, light-up is Sunday 10/30 – drop off your pumpkins any time up until 5:30. If you wish to carve again (since Heritage Day was so long ago our pumpkins will not last until Halloween) – Chestnut Hill Farm is selling $5 pumpkins and free carving stations will be set up on the day before (Saturday) from 10-2. A fun weekend to kick-off Halloween!

Thanks for the update. Too bad it can’t be rescheduled, this is always a fun event.

That’s really disappointing to hear there’s no rain date. Isn’t there a way we can all put them out tomorrow night even with no official event? We spent all afternoon making our pumpkins and it’s one of our favorite events of the year.
