The Southborough Senior Center’s Trailblazers have organized another trip for active seniors. On November 7th, Southborough seniors are invited to join them for hiking and sightseeing in Newburyport.
There is no fee for joining them on the trip. But there may be some costs involved with participating.
Participants will meet at the Senior Center at 9:00 am Monday to carpool to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Seniors who have a National Parks “Senior Pass”, should bring it with them. For others, the entry charge is $5 per car.
Once there, visitors will spend 2-3 hours exploring the Plum Island portion of the refuge. The park features diverse habitats and abundant wildlife. If you plan to join them, you’re encouraged to bring binoculars, a camera, and dress in layers.
After a break at the park, participants will head on to lunch at a favorite tavern in Newburyport for a late lunch. Some may linger in town to enjoy the local shops before heading home.
