This Thursday night, Algonquin is holding a Culinary Challenge. Ten teams will vie to be masters of the kitchen.
The teams of three will be given a mystery ingredient/product and challenged to “demonstrate their culinary expertise and creativity”. Three local chefs will judge each dish and award prizes for the top three teams.
The public is invited to cheer them on – at the cost of $10/ticket. That covers light refreshments (also advertised as “hors d’oevres and meat”.) Organizers will also be selling basket raffle tickets.
Proceeds from the event support the school’s Serenity Garden initiative:
Utilizing the concept of “farm to table,” the initiative brings educational awareness to students, helping them to realize the importance of eating properly while minimizing their environmental footprint.
The event is being held in the Culinary Arts Kitchens Room of the school, room E107. Algonquin is at 79 Bartlett Street in Northborough.
