Fans of comic books will want to mark their calendars for Saturday, January 21st. Southborough’s Hall of Comics is hosting a special charity event.
It’s the store’s third annual “Deck the Hall with Craig” event. (It may seem a little late for a Christmas themed event. That’s because it was initially scheduled for December 17th. A snowstorm forced them to postpone.)
The event features comic book artist Craig Rousseau. Rousseau will be doing sketches on request in exchange for $25 worth of donations to Pathways Family Shelter.
There are some rules.
- The donations should be new, unopened domestic items such as diapers, pots & pans, non-perishable foods, and personal hygene products, and/or gift certificates to grocery stores, department stores and gas stations.
- Sketches are on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one character per sketch and one sketch per household.
The event takes place from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at 3 Turnpike Road.
For those interested, the store will be selling blank covers to be sketched on. And their Pro Services rep will on hand to accept cover sketches and submit them for grading at CBCS, on the spot. (Confession – I don’t know what that means. But I’m assuming if you’re a die hard comic fan, you do!)
And that day only, the store will be selling an original, limited edition STAR WARS themed print by Rousseau.
Rousseau is an artist who has been in the business for about 20 years, working for several publishers. His work includes books on Batman, Green Lantern, Teen Titans, Shark Boy and Lava Girl, X-men first class, Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America and much more.
