A Southborough family is hosting a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Hospital again this winter. They are inviting the community to join the fun and support the cause.
The Skate Party will take place at Roller Kingdom in Hudson on Saturday, February 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
[And if you really want to support the cause, scroll down to learn about their other big upcoming fundraiser – the March 18th Fitness Show.]
The February party will include skating, games, and races. There will also be karaoke and a 50/50 raffle. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand.
The rink rents traditional skates, inline, and even skates with training wheels for tots. Or, bring your own skates.
As for the price – they are requesting donations with a suggestion of $10 per person or $30 per family. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
There is no pre-registration for this event. Just show up with your cash in hand. (Roller Kingdom is at 5 Highland Park Avenue in Hudson.)
If you have questions, you can contact Kmcguirk2@yahoo.com.
The family’s sponsorship of the event stems from Finola and Maddy Wall’s involvement in Fitness for a Cure/St Jude Performance Team. The Neary students have been team members for a few year now. There mother explains:
The team motto is “those that are strong in mind and body should give back to the sick and less fortunate”. It is a team of healthy kids “paying it forward” while learning a new level of how lucky they are to be healthy and spreading the message of the importance of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Finding cures. Saving children.”
The kids’ team will hold their big annual fundraiser with a Fitness Show on March 18. It begins with a family event is at 11:00 am, followed by an evening gala at 6:00 pm. All are welcome there as well. To learn more about the team or the March 18th event, visit www.fitnessforacure.com.
