St. Mark’s School’s Baseball program is holding a clinics this Sunday and again next month for Southborough youth players.
There is no fee to participate. Instead, kids are asked to donate gently used baseball equipment or new school supplies. The supplies will be given to communities in Cuba when the team visits there this March.
The clinics are geared to Southborough Little League players. (Haven’t signed your kid up for this spring yet? Click here to register.)
Each clinic will be structured as a high-repetition session. St. Mark’s baseball coaches and players will provide instruction in base running, hitting, fielding and throwing/catching.
The clinics will be held in the school’s Armour Cage on Sundays January 29th and February 12th from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
If you have questions about the clinic, email Head Coach Rob Calagione at robertcalagione@stmarksschool.org.
As for the team’s Goodwill Tour in Cuba, their fundraising site explains:
The St. Mark’s Baseball Team will be traveling to the Province of Matanzas, Cuba this March. We are partnering with the Caribbean Baseball Goodwill Tours organization (https://www.caribbeanbaseballgoodwilltours.com/) and will be playing four exhibition games in local communities, as well as visiting a school.
We are hoping to raise funds to purchase baseball equipment and school supplies to donate to the communities we will be visiting. The money raised will go directly toward purchasing needed supplies. We appreciate your generosity in advance.
