According to Southborough Wicked Local, an 18 year old Southborough resident has been charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery.
The arrest stems from an incident at his 19 year old girlfriend’s Framingham home. The accused allegedly admitted to putting his hands on her neck, but characterized it differently. The article quotes a police report:
‘I put my hands around her neck,’ because he felt like the victim was not allowing him to leave
Prosecutor Kristen Hughes told the Framingham Court a different version:
“He grabbed [the girlfriend] and then pushed her into the wall in the kitchen and then threw her to the floor,” Hughes said.
The 19-year-old woman said she hit her head on the floor and hurt her back, the prosecutor said.
When the woman got up, [the accused] came up from behind her and placed her in a choke hold, Hughes said.
“She (the woman) began to panic because she couldn’t breathe,” Hughes said
Hughes asked for $1,000 bail. The judge apparently agreed with defense that the bail was “enormously excessive”. The accused was released without bail, but ordered to stay away from his girlfriend. He is due back in court on March 13 for a pretrial conference.
