Next year, Algonquin will have a new principal. But first, the administration needs to find one. And they are asking the community to weigh in on what to look for.
As I’ve previously posted, Principal Tom Mead is retiring in June. The administration has formed a Principal Search Committee to find his replacement.
One of the committee’s tasks is to write the job description and candidate requirements. Members will also need to screen candidates for the post. Before doing either, they want feedback from the community.
They are holding a forum for that a week from tonight. Superintendent Christine Johnson issued the invitation this afternoon:
The Algonquin Regional High School Principal Search Committee is pleased to offer an opportunity for the school community to exchange its thoughts about the educational leadership experiences and attributes of the next high school principal. This community forum will take place on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the J. F. K. Auditorium at Algonquin from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The Search Committee is looking forward to receiving input from the community.
Information regarding community forums for the next principals of the Albert E. Woodward School and Mary E. Finn School will be forthcoming.
