Nominate someone for their service to the Library – deadline March 1

If there is someone whose service to the Southborough Library you think is worth noting, here’s your chance. The Southborough Library is seeking nominees for the third annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction.

To me, it’s less about service to the library, than service to the community through the library.

That could be a staff member* who goes above and beyond to help patrons. (Like beloved, late staff member Peggy Tuttle did during her many years at the library.)

Or it could be a Trustee, active member of The Friends of the Southborough Library, or volunteer who works hard to support the Library (and therefore its abililty to serve the public).

Last year, the honor went to a “Friend”, Diana Tremblay. Tremblay is the Friends’ Book Sale Chair. She put in countless hours over the past few years sorting donated books and organizing and running the sales. (And somehow, she always works with a smile. Thank you, Diana!)

This year, it might be someone you nominate. Here is more detail from the Library’s Director, Ryan Donovan*:

2017 Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction

The library is currently accepting nominations for the third annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction. The award recognizes an outstanding individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to support the mission of our library.

Last year, the award was presented to the book sale chair Diana Tremblay by library director Ryan Donovan. This year, the award will be presented at the start of Southborough’s 2017 Annual Town Meeting.

Nominations will close March 1, 2017. Library staff, Friends of the Southborough Library members, volunteers, and former/current library trustees are all eligible, as are members of the Southborough community who have made a substantial impact on library services within the last five years. This award is made possible with funding from the Southborough Library Fund. Please make a donation today to support the award for future years.

*(There is one exception to staff members. Director Ryan Donovan is ineligible for the honor.)
