Next year, Finn and Woodward Schools will each have a new principal. But first, the administration needs to find them. And they are asking the community to weigh in on what to look for.
As I’ve previously posted, Principal James Randell is retiring in June. The administration has formed search committees to find replacements for each school he has been heading for the past few years. (There is also another committee looking to find the new Algonquin principal. Their public forum is Tuesday night.)
The Committees’ tasks include writing the job description and candidate requirements. Members will also need to screen candidates for the post. Before doing either, they want feedback from the community.
They are holding forums for that this week. Superintendent Christine Johnson issued the invitation yesterday afternoon:
The Woodward and Finn Principal Search Committees will be hosting two forums for the community to exchange its thoughts about the educational leadership experiences and attributes of the new school principals.
The forums will take place on Thursday, March 2 from 9:30 – 11 AM at Finn School and 6 – 8:30 PM at Woodward School. Both events will be held in the library.
If you are unable to attend either forum and wish to share your thoughts, please contact Rebecca Pellegrino, Co-Chair of the Principal Search Committees.
