  • School Speaker Series “Stress: the Breakfast of Champions” (6:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Robert E Melican Middle School, Band Room, 145 Lincoln Street, Northborough: Final presentation in this year’s Speaker Series through the Northborough-Southborough School District. Jerry Shultz, Ph.D., a Clinical Neruopsychologist and author, will present “Stress: the Breakfast of Champions – How to put kids at the cusp of confidence and on the path to success”  For details, see dedicated post.
  • Lenten Series (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Main St: The United Parishes of Southborough are holding their annual Lenten series for the community. This week’s is hosted by St Mark’s Episcopal Church and features Barbara Talcott speaking on the Descent from the Cross.  For details, see dedicated post.
  • April Poetry Workshops

    Poetry Workshop Series (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library, main floor: Join several Southborough poets as they review and discuss the work of a featured author and discuss & create poetry of their own. The series is through a partnership between the Southborough Public Library & the Worcester County Poetry Association. See flyer for details.

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

  • NSPAC Coffee and Connect (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ C’est La Vie (30 Main St., Northborough): Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council’s monthly gathering during the school year. It’s a chance for parents/guardians to connect with other members of the community facing similar challenges.  For details, see dedicated post.
  • Respectful Beats

    Respectful Beats™: Drumming workshop for seniors (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Road: The class utilizes unique drum exercises that not only benefit well‐being, but are highly engaging. The interactive music format creates an atmosphere where participants feel comfortable to express their inner musician. Drumming supplies will be provided. For details, see flyer.

  • Legos at the Library (3:45 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: Children are welcome to come build with Legos, and display their creations in the Children’s Room. Legos will be provided, but all materials need to remain at the library. Parents or caregivers must stay with children during this event.

Thursday, April 6, 2017

  • Early Release for Finn Woodward Neary and Trottier (12:00 – 1:00 pm): Parent Conferences
  • The Poet Tea: Tea & Poetry (3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor: Join a few metrowest Brits for an afternoon of tea and poetry on the library’s historical main floor. Listen to readings of poetry selections about the topic of… poetry! Tea and light refreshments will be served courtesy of the library’s fantastic volunteers.

  • American FinnJa Warrior (9:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Mary Finn School, Gymnasium, 60 Richards Road: A fundraiser to benefit a new playground at Finn School. Pre-registration is required and there is a limit. The Finn Gym will be transformed into a super fun obstacle course where kids Pre-K to 5th grade can come and become a Finn-Ja Warrior four 1-hour sessions 9, 10, 11 & Noon. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Art Workshop for Children (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Children ages 5-9 are invited to be a part of the drop in art workshops. (Siblings allowed.) This session, children will make a marionette. Registration is not required.  For details, see flyer right.
