Steve Curtis has taught Southborough students to play band instruments for 38 years. This June, he’ll be retiring.
Before he leaves, he’s hoping to get some old bands back together.
As the band leader for Neary 4th & 5th grade bands and the “Maggie Neary Blues Band”, Curtis has taught everything from clarinets to xylophones. Next month, he hopes to see some old, familiar faces behind the instruments when he conducts.
An Alumni Tribute Concert is planned to honor the beloved teacher. Organizers are inviting any alumni out there to join them:
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played in years, we would love to have former students come to honor Steve.
The concert will be held at Trottier Middle School at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 3rd.
If you have any questions, you can email Lally at Plallyster@gmail.com.

I had the joy and pleasure of playing alongside Steve at Westborough High. He was loved then as well. Such a great tribute you have planned for him!!! Thank you, Debbie Parkin Sifers
“Mr. Curtis” was a memorable teacher in my life. He taught me to play trumpet, beginning with Neary classics like “The Blue Rock”! I’m still playing trumpet today and music has brought great joy to my life. Thanks Mr. Curtis!

Always enjoyed Steve Curtis’s concerts, and especially when the band played at my retirement party!
