Southborough Extended Day offers flexible schedule (at reasonable prices) for “Summer Fun”

[The following information is on behalf of MySouthborough sponsor, Southborough Extended Day.]

Whether you’re looking for a summer camp or panicking about who’s going to watch your kids while you’re working this summer – Southborough Extended Day has a program that is definitely worth checking out.

I was searching for a camp that was convenient to get to, at a price I could afford, and a schedule that met my needs. A friend told me that her kids enjoyed the Southborough Extended Day summer program. So, I took a look.

I was thrilled to see how flexible the schedule is.

Yes, you can sign up kids for a traditional week of full day camp (8:30 am – 4:30 pm). But you can also pick and choose specific days based on your schedule. Plus, you can pay for early drop off and/or late pick up. (They even allow afternoon-only camping for children enrolled in other morning camps.)

Registration is offered for kids entering Kindergarten – 7th grade. It runs now through August 18th.*

The program is run out of Neary School, where “Summer Fun Club” is held, with campers split in three age groups:

The Neary cafeteria is transformed into a summer clubhouse. Outdoors, campers can ride bikes, splash in the pools and sprinklers, play sports, or use the playground. Indoors, campers can choose between the art center, game area, gym, or our comfortable relaxation zone.

Specialized activities for older and younger campers
K-1 are the Rookies, Grades 2-3 are the Masters and grades 4-7 are the Legends. The campers rotate between a variety of activities. Arts and Crafts, Sports and Games, and Workshops. Workshops offer the campers a wide variety of choices like Stem/Steam activities, specialized sports and games, fine arts, Nature and much more.

Rookies and Masters enjoy daily water fun while the legends have some independence to work individually on projects, hanging out with friends, creating memories and making choices on how they want to spend part of their day. (Scroll down for more details on camp activities.)**

Extended Day summer field tripsOn Tuesdays and Thursdays, campers also enjoy offsite activities.

Tuesdays are swim days. And Thursdays are field trips to places kids love. This year’s list includes amusement parks, water slides, go carts and arcades. (Click thumbnail right for the Tues/Thurs schedule. To verify dates, click here for the registration form.)

**As promised, here’s a more detailed description of the fun campers can expect at Neary this summer:

Extended Day - why camp and camp featuresFun activities in a relaxed atmosphere
Our focus is on fun and flexibility. Each morning, campers choose between four special projects or games. The schedule is adaptable and children can participate in all the activities or stay focused on one favorite. Freedom to move between groups to pursue your own interests is one of the things that makes SEDP camp great!

Afternoons feature fun open-ended activity choices.

Weather permitting, we fill up the wading pools and turn on the sprinklers for daily water play. Campers are also welcome to bring their bikes, scooters, skateboards or roller skates. We rope off part of the blacktop so that anyone who brings a helmet can ride!

Arts and crafts materials are available all afternoon for creative use. Board games, building materials, and books are always there for the choosing. Campers might also want to have fun in the gym or on the playground.

There’s something for every age and interest.
