This Saturday, Fay School is launching its new Farmers Market.* The school will hold them weekly on Saturday mornings (9:00 am – noon) in September and October beginning September 9th.
The school is inviting the community:
The market is open to all and will feature local produce, prepared food, and handmade goods by local vendors and Fay School faculty and staff. Join us, and bring your neighbors, as we celebrate our local farmers, delicious food, and a sustainable community!
The event is being held in Harlow Circle at Fay School (in front of the Primary School), 25 Middle Road.
So far, more than a dozen local vendors are signed up this fall. Offerings include eggs and meat, seasonal veggies, baked goods, fruit spreads, handmade soaps, jewelry, and much more.
To add to the fun, they are including entertainment. To kick off the series, they’re bringing back Animal Adventures’ Show and Touch program. The animal handlers will bring out various farm and exotic animals. That will run from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
In future weeks, you can expect:
- Sept. 16 – Jeannie Mack Concert (10:00-11:00 am only)
- Sept. 23 – Face Painting by Fay Students
- Sept. 30 – Baypath Humane Society Pet Adoption
- Oct. 7 – Touch a Truck (10:00-11:00 am only)
- Oct. 14 – Fall Festival
- Oct. 21 – Fay Musical Performances
- Oct. 28 – Halloween Crafts and Costume Parade
Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can click here for info.
*In the spring, they held they called their “Opening Day”. But I considered that one-off afternoon session more of a “sneak peak” at what’s to come this fall.
