Man in custody being charged with burglary of Southborough businesses

According to Southborough Police, an Ashland man has been charged with burglaries of businesses in town. He is in custody and also facing charges for crimes in other nearby towns.

The Southborough break-ins took place in July at Lisaken Salon and Red Barn Coffee. Both businesses are located on Route 9. This afternoon, Chief Paulhus released news on the:

On, 7/15/2017, Southborough Police Officers responded to a breaking and entering alarm at Lisaken Salon, located at 42 Turnpike Road, at approximately 9:07 p.m. A similar break was reported on, 7/25/17, at Red Barn Coffee Roasters, located at 20 Turnpike Road, at approximately 4:17 a.m.

Detective Keith Nichols and Lt. Sean James processed both crime scenes. They were able to develop physical evidence and information leading to warrants being issued for [an Ashland man]. Hopkinton Police and Ashland Police were also instrumental in sharing information leading to the charges. Sampson has also been charged with similar crimes in both Hopkinton and Ashland. He is currently being held at the Middlesex House of Correction, and will be arraigned on the Southborough warrants on a future date in Westborough District Court.

Charges include: (2) Counts of B&E Building Nighttime, (2) Counts of Destruction of Property Over $250.00, (1) Count of Larceny from a Building, (2) Counts of Trespass.

Earlier this week, police shared news of home break-ins on Flagg Road. At this time, police aren’t making any public connection between those and the suspect under arrest.
