Algonquin Football got the most attention last week with it’s first home game of the season. Twitter pics show stadiums were full of high spirited fans and a half time celebration honored the class of 1977 -timed for their 40th reunion. (For some great images, see Jeff Slovin’s tweets.)
Unfortunately, the team was soundly defeated by Marlborough 28-8. Hopefully, Worcester Telegram’s honoring of QB Hayden Kea as Player of the Week helped salve the wounds. (That announcement made yesterday was based on the prior week’s game.)
Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, and Boys Golf are off to a great season start. Boys Soccer is undefeated 5 games in. Boys Golf started the season with a tie, followed by four wins. Girls Soccer had a rockier start – a loss followed by a tie. But they may have found their groove – as their last three games were wins.
