I wrote too soon when I posted that there are no more Algonquin teams vying for state titles.
The schedule has been posted for the State Cheerleading Championship. Algonquin’s performance team, which came in 5th at the regionals, is listed as competing.
The results from the Regional competition show the T-Hawks as qualifying through the “At-Large bid”.
The squad is the third slated to cheer on Sunday morning. The competition begins at 10:30 am and takes place at Worcester State University. The girls scored 161.7 last weekend. They’ll need to score 176 out of 220 possible points if they want to move on to Nationals.
As I previously posted, Game Day Cheer already competed in their State Championship, coming in 4th place. The newly posted results confirm that only the top two schools from that competition are heading on to the Nationals.
