If there is someone whose service to the Southborough Library you think is worth noting, here’s your chance. The Southborough Library is seeking nominees for the fourth annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction.
To me, it’s less about service to the library, than service to the community through the library.
That could be a staff member* who goes above and beyond to help patrons. (Like beloved, late staff member Peggy Tuttle did during her many years at the library.)
Or it could be a Trustee, active member of The Friends of the Southborough Library, or volunteer who works hard to support the Library (and therefore its abililty to serve the public).
Last year, the honor went to then-employee, Heidi Lindsey.
This year, it might be someone you nominate. Here is more detail from the Library’s website:
Nominations are now open for the fourth annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction. This yearly honor recognizes a library staff member, volunteer, or community member that has dedicated a significant amount of their time into making library services better for the entire Southborough community. Whether they lead a monthly book group, serve on the board of The Friends of the Southborough Library, or suggest what to read next through reader’s advisory service, this is a time to celebrate an individual who makes the Southborough Library the unique and wonderful place that it is. Nominations close March 17, 2018.
Please feel free to print out and use the official nomination form, or e-mail library director Ryan Donovan at rdonovan@southboroughma.com with a 1-2 paragraphs explaining who you are nominating and why. Please note that the Library Director and previous award recipients are ineligable to receive the award. This award is in rememberance of deceased staff member Peggy Tuttle who worked at the Southborough Library for over 30 years. The Peggy Tuttle Award is supported by the Southborough Library Fund, a donor managed fund under the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.

*(There is one exception to staff members. Library Director Ryan Donovan is ineligible for the honor.)
