If you felt inspired by the marathon runners – here’s an opportunity to break out your running shoes for a race in town. (Thankfully, it should be much dryer and shorter than yesterday’s race.)
The choices are a 3.4 and 5 mile trail race and/or a 0.25 mile fun run with unusual “kids”.
The Trustees of Reservations is hosting their third annual “Running of the Goats” at Chestnut Hill Farm. TTOR pitches:
Once all 3.4 and 5 mile runners have crossed the finish line, the Running with the Goats fun run with the baby goats of the farm will begin — a running event guaranteed to bring a great, big smile to your face!
The 3.4 and 5 mile races are scheduled for this Sunday, April 22 at 9:00 am. The fun run will be at around 10:00 am:
If you plan to bring a crew of people with some running in the longer distance races and others doing the fun run with the goats (maybe some doing both?), the Trustees will have a variety of lawn games set up (e.g. croquet, can jam, ladder ball) to keep people occupied and entertained during the time between when the 3.4 and 5 mile races begin and end and the start of the 0.25 fun run.
There will also be snacks and “a chance to take a “#gelfie” (a goat selfie)”.
There is a fee to participate. Costs vary by event signed up for and whether you register in advance or day-of. (Fees range from $5 to $40.)
