Southborough Police asked me to share a construction warning.

If you had a bit of a rush hour issue this morning in the downtown area – it wasn’t a one time thing. A project that I shared news of in a past post is underway.

Pipes are being laid down Cordaville Road, from Route 30, past Woodward School to the golf course.

Expect the project to go on through the month:

Utility work is underway on Route 85 Cordaville Road in Southborough for gas and water lines from the intersection at Route 30 Main Street to the entrance of the new Public Safety Building site at the golf course.

The work will continue from 7:00 AM till 5:00 PM through the month of July. Motorists should expect long delays and seek alternate routes as traffic will be limited to one lane.

This morning, the closed lane and detour caused some traffic on Route 30 as well as Cordaville – and that’s during 4th of July week. So, even if you aren’t planning to get on Rte 85, I’d plan to avoid crossing the Route 30 lights during rush hours – or whenever you’re in a rush.

How about installing natural gas on my street? Why does the new police and fire station get special treatment?
