End of summer “blogcation”

I know, I just got back from my “mini-break”. And I’m sure there is more town news worth sharing, but I need to some more time to chill with my kids before they go back to school.

If you’re trying to organize for back to school – click here for school news, including times for open houses, supply lists, and more. (Anything that I haven’t covered you should be able to find on the district’s website here.*)

If you’re hungry for the local buzz:

  • You might want to scan the latest open thread for new comments from other readers. (Though I can’t promise how often I’ll remember to update those. I’m shooting for at least once a day.)
  • For professional reporting, you can check Southborough Wicked Local. Community Advocate also writes about our town occasionally. (They made it to the playground Grand Opening I missed.)
  • For Government Meetings – check the Town’s website for the latest agendas. (The Zoning Board of Appeals and Conservation Commission are among the committees meeting next week.)

If you are looking for things to do:

I’ll be back online sometime next week – just not sure when. (In the meantime, maybe I’ll see you at Summer Nights.)

*Note: I didn’t post the School bus routes yet, because there were some apparent errors the last time I checked. (For instance, I don’t think that one of the Finn/Woodward buses will really begin pickups at 6:06 am when their school day doesn’t start until 8:50 am.) Superintendent Johnson tells me:

We published routes prior to opening in the hopes of addressing concerns before the students are on our busses. . . We are creating a list of concerns and are responding to them.

I’m hoping they will update the routes before school starts. But you can check the posted routes and and for any possible updates here. (You also may want to keep an eye on your email inbox for any alerts from the schools.)
