SCAC: Seeking public feedback on art priorities; grant applications from “anybody” due Oct 15

Above: SCAC is seeking both applications (from anyone with a worthy idea) and community feedback as the council prepares for its next round of annual grants to fund public art.

Southborough Cultural Arts Council is looking to fund more programs in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. To do that, they need applications – and feedback from the community on the types of programs to support.

SCAC’s priority is funding programs, organizations, and individuals from Southborough and surrounding communities. Last year, 9 grants were awarded $4,500 by SCAC. The new round of opportunities is for programs or performances in calendar year 2019.

This year, they are urging everyone with artistic ideas to consider applying:

Who Can Apply?

Anybody –organizations, teachers, scouts, individuals, artists… anyone with an idea to bring the Arts to Southborough.

If you have a program you think is worth funding, you can visit www.southborougharts.org for more information on the council.

Online applications will be accepted through October 15, 2018. Be sure to include all relevant information, including the venue, date, and costs. Click here for guidelines along with an application link.

Decisions will be made by the end of December.

Likely to factor in to the decision are results from a brief online survey. SCAC is asking the public to weigh in on their funding priorities. What programs have you attended? What age groups would you like to see served? Click here to respond questions like those and just a few more.

If you have questions, or are interested in supporting the group (or learning what that entails), email director@southborougharts.org.
