KoC Soccer Challenge from rules bookThe Southborough chapter of The Knights of Columbus will be hold its 3rd annual Soccer Challenge on our town’s Heritage Day. (It’s not surprising that the organization chooses that day – known elsewhere as Columbus Day).

KoC will host the free competition from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Boys and Girls ages 9-14 are invited to shoot penalty shots on St. Mark’s field.

According to the national organization’s rules, each player is allowed 15 shots at the goal from the penalty line (12 yards from the goal).

The highest scorers win, progressing to the district level.

Nearly 60 kids competed on the field last year. Several moved on to the regional and state levels. (If players are good enough, there’s even potential to move on to international competition.)
