Christopher Paul Davie (41) of Southborough, MA died on January 8, 2019 after living fully with a brain tumor for eleven years. Chris lived with intention, great love, and a focus on family his entire life.
Chris was born on November 17, 1977 to Eileen (Saxton) and James Davie (deceased), joining older siblings James Davie, Michelle Tirone (Davie), and Joseph Davie. He was loved dearly by his entire large family. Chris became an uncle early in life and was devoted to his many nieces and nephews.
Chris found a passion for organic chemistry, first at Boston College (B.S. 1999), and then at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Ph.D. 2005). He had a productive and fulfilling career in early stage drug discovery at Praecis Phamaceuticals and GlaxoSmithKline where he loved the science and appreciated his colleagues.
Chris met his wife Elizabeth A. C. Davie (Colby) at MIT. They were married in 2004, enjoying a 14-year partnership grounded in mutual respect and shared love. Chris derived the most meaning in life from being a father to Nathan and Julia Davie. He loved them dearly, played with them joyfully, parented them tenderly, and envisioned their bright futures.
Chris will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on January 19, 2019 at Boston College Trinity Chapel, 885 Centre St, Newton, MA, with a reception to follow.
Memorial donations to Cradles to Crayons and Health Story Collaborative are appreciated.
