Reminder – Saturday is Earth Day Clean Up

The Rotary Club is sponsoring it’s 29th Annual Earth Day Clean Up this Saturday, April 27th.

Trash collected by volunteers as part of last year's annual Town cleanup (contributed)Tomorrow morning, community members are encouraged to volunteer time cleaning our streets. The starting time is 8:00 am at the Southborough DPW Building (next to the Transfer Station).

To motivate an early start, coffee, treats and T-shirts will be available. (First come first served.)

Volunteers are welcomed to celebrate their efforts at the Gazebo in front of the Fire Station at noon. The free pizza lunch will come with ice cream and “Polar refreshments”.

Have a favorite spot that needs TLC? To adopt a favorite street in advance, call Southborough’s Department of Public Works at 508-485-1210 or visit the office. Or just show up that morning to pick a street and grab your bags.

Tomorrow is also the deadline for kids to submit their Earth Day Posters for the Southborough-Northborough contest. If you haven’t mailed them in or dropped them off, you can bring them in to the DPW tomorrow morning. (You can find more on the contest here.)

Updated (4/26/19 5:02 pm): I should have mentioned – If needed, there is a rain date of this Sunday for the event. But right now it looks more likely to rain Sunday morning and chances of rain during the cleanup hours tomorrow are fairly low. So, I’m keeping fingers crossed that rain won’t interfere. If I learn otherwise, I’ll be sure to update this post again.
