A week from Saturday, Southborough postal carriers are once again taking part in the nation’s largest single-day food drive.
Items collected in Southborough as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger event will go directly to the Food Pantry.
You can help by leaving a bag containing non-perishable (and not-expired) foods next to your mailbox prior to your normal mail delivery on Saturday, May 11:
The Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive is the outgrowth of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ tradition of community service, a tradition exhibited repeatedly by members of the letter carriers’ union over the years.
You can help in the fight against hunger and it’s easy! Just leave a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox on Saturday, May 11, 2019, and your letter carrier will do the rest.
All food collected goes directly to local food banks and pantries in your community.
In our town, postal workers will collect the donations as they deliver the mail and take them to the Southborough Food Pantry at Pilgrim Church.
Your donations will help residents of Southborough who are struggling to put food on their tables every day.
The pantry recently posted that they don’t currently need soup or pasta. They did still need more of the following items:
- Oatmeal
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Fruit Cocktail
- Pineapple
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayo
- Lg. Juice Bottles
- Potato Mixes
- Roast Beef Hash
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Stuffing Mix
