The Rotary Club is holding night #2 in the four week Food Truck Festival. The Library Trustees are hoping you can also carve out some time to head across the street for more strategic planning. (Scroll down for that.)
Tonight’s forecast can’t compete with the gorgeous weather at last week’s opening of the Festival. But there’s no rain on the horizon. So, it’s still a great afternoon and evening to come on downtown. The festival is from 3:30 – 7:30 pm on the St. Mark’s Meadow.
Here are some pictures that Rotary and others shared on Facebook from last week’s fun. As you can see, there was a great turnout with a wide range of ages:
Tonight’s festival will again feature live music courtesy of the Southborough Cultural Arts Council. Singer song writer Julia Howard will perform from approximately 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
The five vendors lined up include the return of Streat Food Rx and Trombetta’s Farm Ice Cream. Joining them are trucks from The Grub Guru, Pangea Cuisines, and Say Cheese.
The Rotary Club is still striving to “Fill the Jeep”. Members are encouraging attendees to bring a package of new socks with them. (Preferrably diabetic socks, but athletic socks are also welcome.) The collection is for the Massachusetts Association of Public Health Nurses. They will use the donations for “Operation Stand Down”, providing medical help to veterans.
But the nurses aren’t just collecting for socks. They are also collecting financial donations for Dollars for Doppler to help care for vets. That program is to purchase special handheld doppler ultrasound equipment that allows them to diagnose vascular conditions.
If you can’t make it out tonight – don’t forget that the festival continues with dates of June 5th and June 12th.
As for the Library Trustees’ event, that’s at 7:00 pm in the upstairs section of the Library. It’s another session of strategic brainstorming:
Library Strategic Planning Forum
You are invited to our Strategic Planning Forum on May 29th, 2019 at 7:00 PM. The forum is open to the general public and you do not need to have attended the first forum to participate in the second.
Please join the Library Director Ryan Donovan to revise the Southborough Library’s mission statement and provide feedback that will help to update the FY15-FY20 Southborough Library Long Range Strategic Plan. If you have a friend or family member who has feedback to contribute, be sure to bring them along. We want feedback from both library users and nonusers alike.
Your valuable insights will help the library formulate our action plan!
