The Community Preservation Committee is doing its annual reevaluation of the Town’s preservation needs. Plus, they’ll be answering questions for people who want to know how to pursue getting their ideas funded. This week, you have an opportunity to weigh in, or just learn more.

7:00 PM.At the meeting, we will collect input as part of the CPC’s evaluation of community preservation needs of Southborough. An overview of the Community Preservation Act and the process to apply for CPA fundswill be presented.
Please come with your specific project ideas and overall needs for community preservation in Southborough.

For those of you not familiar with the CPC, here is an explanation from the Town website of what kind of projects can fall under it:
The Community Preservation Committee shall make recommendations to the Town Meeting for the acquisition, creation and preservation of open space; for the acquisition, rehabilitation, restoration and preservations of historic resources; for the acquisition, creation and preservation of land for recreational use; for the creation, preservation support of community housing; and for the rehabilitation or restoration of such open space, land for recreational use and community housing that is acquired or created as provided in this section. With respect to community housing, the Community Preservation Committee shall recommend, wherever possible, the reuse of existing buildings, or construction of new buildings on previously developed sites.
