Trottier Middle School staff and students were forced to evacuate the building this morning. Principal Kieth Lavoi emailed parents this afternoon:
At approximately 11:30 A.M., smoke was discovered coming from the sound booth in the Trottier auditorium.
Southborough Fire and Police Departments responded and after inspection, the situation was isolated to the sound booth. Occupancy was fully restored to the building at 12:15 P.M.
Tonight’s Jazz Night will take place as planned.
Prior to alarms going off, students were alerted to evacuate by a loudspeaker announcement explaining that it wasn’t a drill.
As for the concert, the Big Band’s Evening of Jazz is at 7:30 pm tonight in the auditorium.
