Block Engineering Deploys PORTHOS Chemical Detection Systems for Japanese Olympics – June 5, 2019
Block Engineering, LLC announced today that its PORTHOS™ automated chemical detection system has been deployed with the Japan Disaster Management Agency at three locations in Japan. PORTHOS is a small, rugged, lightweight, unit that detects and identifies chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals within seconds at distances of 0.1 to 5 km. PORTHOS is currently used globally by Special Forces, government agencies, first responders, and disaster management teams to provide an early warning alert to dangerous airborne chemicals in situations requiring instantaneous and accurate detection. Hitachi, Ltd. Worcester Business Journal – Three biotech firms plan moves following tax break approval – April 1, 2019
A tax-incentive agreement from the town helped, too, with Westborough agreeing to a tax-increment financing deal estimated to save [Olympus] $774,000 on its tax bills. The company plans to begin work in June on the new building, which will accommodate workers being shifted from Littleton and Southborough. (Click here for full article.)
Bruker Announces Acquisition of Scientific Software Provider Arxspan – March 14, 2019
