Southborough’s playgrounds and facilities aren’t only for kids. The sand court at Neary is one example of a venue good for teens and adults.
Southborough Rec is again encouraging residents to get together and make use of it. A weekly drop-in Volleyball program is advertised for adults on Tuesday afternoons/evenings.
Of course, when not in use by this or another program, the court is open to all residents.* So, if you can’t make it on a Tuesday night, or have younger players interested in playing, round up a bunch of friends and head to Neary for a pickup game on another day. (Though, I don’t recommend a summer concert night – since the sand pit is often overrun with rambunctious tots on those evenings!)
Here are the details on this summer’s adult drop-in program:
Adult Drop In Coed Volleyball – Free
Ages: High School and up
Time: 3pm to 6pm
Dates: Tuesdays June 25 to August 21
Location: Outdoor Volleyball Court at the Neary SchoolBring your volleyball and start a pick up game with other volleyball enthusiasts. No instructions or balls provided.
This is a drop in opportunity for non competitive volleyball play. Please bring water and sunscreen.
*All Town/School owned outdoor facilities are open for free recreational use by residents (not classes) when not in use by a Town/school/registered program.
Updated (6/25/19 2:47 pm): Rec confirmed that the 26th was a typo, since today is Tuesday the 25th. Of course, today’s rain and continued forecast rain doesn’t make a great launch for the drop-in program. Hopefully, next week will be a bit drier.
