Last week, Algonquin Cross Country hoped to kick off its summer running series for all ages. Rain interfered, but the forecast looks clear for tomorrow night. And, according to a coach’s tweet, the trails are also clear for a good run.

The drop-in program is on Wednesday evenings through mid-August. The fee is $5 per runner. The series will feature prizes and changing challenges each week. Events include 5ks and relays.

According to the flyer, no headphones, dogs, or baby strollers will be allowed in the races due to safety concerns.

Predicted Time 5k – During registration, participants will predict what time they will run for the 5k race. Results will be scored by how close participants were to their actual race time. No watches!!

2 Person 4 Mile Relay – 2 person teams running alternating 1 mile loops, twice each.

If the event needs to be cancelled for heavy rain/thunderstorms, a notice will be posted on the website by 5:00 pm that day.
