It’s time for another update on Algonquin fall sports.
After an unsurprising Quarter Final win over Marlboro, ARHS Field Hockey is headed to Grafton this afternoon for the regional Semi-Finals. The Girls will face off against 3rd seed Wachusett at 4:30 pm. Beating Wachusett is how the 2nd seed team started their stellar season. If they repeat the win, they’ll play in Finals this Saturday.
As I previously posted, Volleyball is playing in their regionals this evening on their home court. The competition for the 3rd seed Gonk girls has been posted. They’ll play 6th seed Franklin in the Quarter Finals. If they triumph, they’ll move on to the Semis at Framingham High this Wednesday.
To make the playoffs, T-Hawks Football would need to have moved up a slot in the power rankings over the weekend. Unfortunately, the team racked up another loss on Friday, 10-14 to Leominster, moving them down to 6th place for Central Ma Division 3 ball.
That doesn’t mean they are out of action yet. The team will play North Middlesex this Friday in the non-playoff series. (Plus, they’re guaranteed to play in the annual Thanksgiving grudge match against Westborough.)
Central MA Division 1 Soccer brackets are posted. Both ARHS Girls and Boys earned a BYE on the First Round. They will host the Quarter Finals this Wednesday. The top seed Girls will play at 3:00 pm and 2nd seed Boys at 7:00 pm. Their competition is still TBD.
Two ARHS Cheer squads competed at the Shephard Invitational over the weekend. The Division 1 Performance team placed 2nd and Game Day placed 4th. The League Championship is scheduled for this Sunday at Wachusett Regional.
Reminder, ARHS Cross Country teams district regionals are this Saturday, November 9th at the Gardner Municipal Golf Course. The Boys are scheduled for 1:00 pm and the Girls for 2:20 pm.
