Mitten, hat & glove drive – donate at Finn by 12/10

Playing in the snow is a lot more fun when you have mittens to keep hands warm and dry. Finn School is looking for help providing them to Worcester students and families this winter.

Soon, Jack Frost will be nipping at our fingers. Finn School is holding a collection drive to help keep kids’ hands and heads warm this winter. They asked me to help get the word out before shoppers hit the stores this holiday weekend.

The school is collecting new snow mittens, gloves, and winter hats for kids age 5-12 years old. They’ll be sent to a school in Worcester to be given to kids in need.

You don’t need to have a kid attending Finn to participate in the drive. If you have any items to donate, you can drop them off at the school’s lobby, school days 8:00 am – 4:00 pm through Tuesday, December 10th. That’s at 60 Richards Road.

Here’s the call for donations that they emailed to students’ families:

Start shopping those Black Friday sales for warm snow gloves and hats! The Finn students will be holding a hat and mitten drive in December as a way to connect to the CARE theme of Generosity. We will be collecting new snow mittens, gloves and hats for children ages 5- 12. We have connected with a school in Worcester where students and their families are in need of warm winter clothing. Please feel free to bring your donations to the lobby of the Finn school – we will have a donation box available for the community- or send them to school with your child. Finn students will learn about Generosity and their ability to help others at their monthly CARE assembly on December 10th. As a school, we have a goal of 125 new mittens, gloves and hats. We will be counting our donations and announcing the total at the school’s sing-a-long on December 17th. If we meet our donation goal the Mr. Ryan has promised he will dress up like a snowman and sing Frosty the Snowman at our sing-a-long!

Thank you for being such a Generous CARE-ing community!
