  • Celebrity Chef Presentation (2:00 pm) @ The Branches of Marlboro: The Branches of Marlboro Welcomes The Southborough Senior Center Celebrity Chef Presentation, Longhorn Steak Join “The Branches” for an interactive cooking Demonstration, and sample a new item menu fromthe chefs of Longhorn Steakhouse. Space is limited – Please RSVP directly to the Branches (not the Senior Center) at 508-841-3923. Please Note: You may specify if you will need transportation to the event. 
  • 4th & 5th Grade Book Group (4:15 – 5:15 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Book club members read a book selected each month and then meet for discussion & activities.   • Blue Christmas service (7:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Episcopal Church: A community wide “Blue Christmas” service that focuses on the coming of Emmanuel into our world. This quiet service of prayers, readings and candles allows a chance to find solace as we enter the Twelve Days of Christmas. Open to all. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Genealogy Club (7:00 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: This is an informal group meeting where you can learn and share tips about resources for researching family history. This monthly event is free and open to the public. Bring your laptop, log into Ancestry.com, and join in! If you have questions, contact carol.colaianni@comcast.net.

  • Schools’ Early Release for Winter Recess (11:20 am): Southborough and Northborough public schools all begin the Winter break with an early dismissal. ARHS gets out at 10:36 am, Neary and Trottier at 11:20 am, and Finn and Woodward at noon.
  • College Essay help (3:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: The Southborough Library is excited to offer an hour devoted to the development of college application essays throughout December. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Grow Bean Grow (6:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School Auditorium: A musical parody of Jack and the Beanstalk. The Skyrise Theater production will raise funds for ” Dog 4 Jay Jay”. Proceeds from the play will support efforts to obtain a service dog for a Southborough high school student with autism. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Winter Solstice Celebration on the Farm (3:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Join us as we light up the night with a family-friendly Solstice stroll and celebration at the farm. Registration is Required by 2 days prior. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Swing n’ Christmas benefit concert (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s School, Putnam Family Arts Center: The big band concert will raise funds for two important causes – Abby’s House and The CASA Project. Holiday music will range from the 1930’s beginning of the Jump Swing era to current day arrangements. For details, see dedicated post.
