Last night, Southborough teachers and the district administration provided food for hungry and homeless people.
The Southborough Teachers Association and Central Office staff raised money to provide meals to the program “Our Father’s Table” in Marlborough.
Normally, when the teachers support the program, they sign up to contribute items and put the meals together. Due to current public health advisories, that wasn’t possible this week.
Instead of serving a sit down meal, the association purchased meals that could be passed out. The STA collected donations and secured catering from Stevie’s Back Road Cafe in Hudson who gave them the meals for $5/person.
Woodward teacher Nicole Kelleher reached out to share the details and photos. She wrote:
Southborough & Central Office staff distributed a hot meal tonight to 31 people and will be providing several more in the upcoming weeks. Tonight my husband joined me to hand out milk, dessert, and hot turkey, mashed potatoes, and veggies.
As the co-director of Our Father’s Table, I would like to personally thank each and every member of our school community for their generosity. The outpouring of love and support from all of you is overwhelming and you are making a world of difference for the underserved in our community. THANK YOU!!
