I have a stories about how the community is supporting the Food Pantry. So, I’m rounding them up.
All Car Care fundraiser for pantries
All Car Care in Southborough is making a limited time charitable offer to support food pantries. A share of new bills will be donated to a pantry or food bank of your choosing:
The auto shop’s customers extend beyond Southborough, so it’s likely that some donations will go to other food pantries. (Worcester Food Bank and Greater Boston Food Bank are among the options.) But the Southborough Food Pantry is one of the pantries the shop reached out to. Here are the details:
Rick at All Car Care always puts his customers first. Now, to help those most in need, we will donate 3% of parts and labor for any new paid mechanical job* to a local food pantry of your choice. Have work done by May 22nd, and the donation will be made in your name.
Customers are encouraged to match donations. . .
* Excludes tax, tires, sublet and insurance work. Can’t be combined with any other offer. Not valid on prior services. Expires May 22, 2020.
All Care Auto is at 77 School Street. Call 508- 481-1170 to book your appointment.
Southborough Teachers Association
The STA reached out with more news on how they have been using the $1,200 they raised to give back to the community. Earlier this month, they donated groceries to the Southborough Food Pantry. (Thanks to Woodward teacher Nicole Kelleher and her husband for doing the shopping and dropping, and for sharing the news.)
Volunteers pitch in to keep everyone dry
We all know that “April showers bring May flowers”. But that’s not of great comfort for Food Pantry volunteers trying to organize safely handing out items to the pantry customers this rainy spring.
Fortunately, Boy Scouts from Troop 1 provided canopies and volunteers stepped up to to make it work. The Food Pantry thanked on Facebook:
Thank you to Troop 1 for the canopies that let us keep our groceries dry for our clients this week.
….and to Laura, Jim and Robby Stewart for putting them up….and taking them down….and putting them up…..and taking them down
Update (4/29/20 8:55 am): I messed up the name of All Car Care (in headlines and body!) My apologies.
