Southborough Rotary Club had planned to hold the third annual Food Truck Festival this May and June. Unfortunately, it’s just one more cancellation this spring.
Current Rotary Club President Liz Kaprielian explained,
We had been keeping our fingers crossed that things would change as we came closer to the Rotary Southborough Food Truck event this May and June. Unfortunately, this virus situation continues.
The event is normally setup on the St Mark’s activity field directly across the street from the Southborough Library and St. Mark’s ground staff help with event setup and take down each of the nights. But due to the COVID-19 situation, St. Mark’s School closure is now running thru at least mid-June. And as of 4/27/20, the governor’s Stay-At-Home order is still in place. To ensure appropriately safety of the community, vendors, and club members, the Rotary Club decided cancelling all 4 nights of the event, May 20, May 27, June 3 and June 10 was the best course of action.
Our Rotary Club would like to thank the food truck vendors who have supported our event from the start, as well as the other local organizations who were partnered with us for the event this year including: Main Street Bank, Southborough Youth & Family Services, the Southborough Arts Council, Girl Scouts Cassie Melo & Autumn Stewart, and the Southborough Library. We look forward to re-connecting with them and our whole community when things return to some sort of new normal.
