Last week, Algonquin Regional hosted a drive-thru celebration to honor the graduating Class of 2020. Seniors were invited to decorate their cars and drive through campus to wave goodbye to K-12 educators. The event, held last Thursday evening was one of the new celebrations announced the prior weekend after students and families had expressed disappointment over this weekend’s graduation plans.
The school still plans to hold it’s diploma ceremony this weekend with more celebrations, including an outdoor graduation, planned for the future.
Below are some of the highlights from last week’s fun shared on social media.
The following photos were posted to Facebook and Twitter. (Top row L-R by Fran Goldstein, Stefanie Ranieri Cappello, and three from ARHS Athletics; bottom row by Ms. Morcone, an Algonquin teacher and coach):
ARHS sports “superfans” @THawktweets tweeted a video taken from inside the rolling tribute:

The Community Advocate also posted a few pics by professional photographer Jeff Slovin. You can find Slovin’s entire album from the event on smugmug.
Fantastic job by Algonquin staff, teachers, NPD, NFD, and parents to pull this off! A fun and uplifting event was so needed by all! THANK YOU.
