On Sunday, a serious car accident resulted in a serious, but not life threatening injuries, according to a Wicked Local story.
According to the article, a Masarati crashed head on with a utility pole on Route 9 West in Southborough. The section of Rte 9 was closed for 3 hours due to damage to the pole:
“It was pretty bad,” said [Lt. Ryan Newell]. “The car was totaled. He’s very lucky.”
The Maserati was driving on Rte. 9 westbound when, for an unknown reason went out of control, drove off the road and crashed into the utility pole near 337 Turnpike Road.
The man suffered serious injuries, but the woman driving and a second passenger only suffered minor injuries. It is unknown if any of them were wearing seat belts and it’s not known if the seriously injured man was in the front seat or the back seat. Police would not release the identity of those in the vehicle or where they were from. . .
The cause of the crash remains unknown and charges and citations have not been issued. The crash is being investigated by the Southborough Police and the Massachusetts State Police’s accident reconstruction team.
