Pumpkin Stroll cancelled – send your gourd pics here

This morning, Southborough Rotary Club announced that the annual Pumpkin Stroll won’t be held this year:

Due to ongoing concerns around COVID19 and EEE, the Rotary Club has cancelled the 2020 Pumpkin Stroll. We look forward to bringing it back in 2021.

The news is disappointing. So, I want to extend an invite. Send in pics of your carved pumpkins in October, and I’ll put together an online display on the blog. Readers can then “stroll” through the lineup virtually.

Carvers can email pics to mysouthborough@gmail.com.

It’s worth noting that the Rotary usually uses the annual event to support causes (like collections for the Food Pantry). Despite the cancellation of their public events this year, they are still up to doing good. Later this morning, I’ll be posting news about their “campership” fundraising drive.

The cancellation is one among a slew of others in 2020. For those that may have missed it, Heritage Day was already officially cancelled.
