The Southborough Fire Association asked me to share their sad announcement. The SFA’s annual Halloween festivities are cancelled this year. In most years, the SFA hosts a Halloween parade followed by a kid-friendly party with a costume contest. This year, they determined that wouldn’t be safe:
On behalf of the Southborough Firefighters Association, we regret to inform the community that out of an abundance of caution, and due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in town, we have made the decision to cancel our annual Halloween parade. We wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween, however you choose to celebrate it.
Some of you may be wondering about the Town’s plans for Halloween. As of last night, it hasn’t been discussed by the Board of Selectmen. It isn’t on the Board of Health agenda for this week, but could come up under other agenda items.
