The Southborough Gardeners are inviting the community to sign up for two special Floral Workshops this month.
Events will support the Southborough Food Pantry and are offered for free.
These aren’t the type of workshops where attendees passively watch an expert create an arrangement. It also isn’t the kind where participants go home with the arrangements they create.
The Gardeners are offering a unique win-win opportunity.
Participants will learn floral arranging techniques through the hands-on workshops. The arrangements they create will be donated to the Southborough Food Pantry. (Those will then be gifted to pantry clients.)
The Gardeners will provide all of the supplies needed. Participation is free, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
The event will be led by SG’s Michele Landes. Other Gardeners members will be making arrangements and able to “offer assistance to any novices who may ask for help”.
Both events will be held at a home in town on a Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:30 am.
The first workshop is on October 22nd. Attendees will learn mechanics for making a small, traditional floral vase for a side table. That event will be held on the patio, weather permitting (with the garage as backup).
On October 29th, participants will learn to make dried and succulent arrangements on small gourds and pumpkins. Since electrical outlets will be needed for glue guns, tables will be set up in the garage.
Both events will be held at 12 Wyndemere Drive. To register, or for more details, call 508-361-3516 or email musicmom.landes@gmail.com.
The workshops are just one of the ways the Southborough Gardeners are working to support the town. You can follow them on Facebook where they occasionally post pics of some of their Town beautification efforts, like the photo right.
Updated (10/15/20 9:52 am): I initially neglected to share the address of the event, 12 Wyndemere Drive.
Where are the patio and garage located??
Oops. It’s at 12 Wyndemere Drive.
(I had it in my draft but apparently edited it out!)
